Good home cooking. Small seating area and usually busy. Usually open when other local places arent. Take out available.

Friendly service but disappointing food - dated "family" style cooking without much flavour or interest. Peterborough has an outstanding farmer's market, it would be so easy to source amazing local market-fresh foods and put some creativity into the menu.

Great food and lots of it! Make reservations since there are only 8-9 tables. They can do take-out as well.

Tried to eat there today. One table of six people in restaurant. My family was turned away because they " wanted to catch up". I would not recomend driving 3 hrs like we did to eat there.

Good portion size, gravy tasted like cake mix was in it and the tea also had a pastry taste. Over all not bad!

We just joined friends for dinner and it was terrible. They wouldn't serve us 10 ounce primer ib because they had other guests coming. Yes that's what the waitress told us. What we could have was the 6 ounce so we ordered that and it wasn't any more than 4 ounces.. tops. Our dinner arrived cold as ice. This dinner was so bad I wouldn't even give it 1 star. I highly recommend you go elsewhere

A true hidden gem. I've driven by so many times and wanted to stop. This won't be the last time. Ordered the large prime rib, with tomorrow lunch in mind. Wasn't disappointed. Homemade Caesar dressing, wonderful soup too.

This place is a gem. Excellent service. Amazing food choices. The best western sandwich I have ever eaten. They have more eclectic food choices. Surprising menu.

Awesome food and service. We go backwoods canoe camping every year and Uncle George's is the exclamation mark at the end of the trip!

Great service although subpar food. Ravioli in a butter sauce is is ravioli drenched in butter. Tortellini had very little sauce. Had broccoli soup that tasted like cream and butter no broccoli florets or taste. Prices are expensive especially for the lack of quality and limited menu. Would not return.

Used to love this place but it's WAY to expensive now with the new owners. Over $55 for supper without drinks or dessert last time we went. For far less money we get an excellent dinner in Apsley at the Swiss Bear.

This place is great...there is no other way to describe it. I'm not a big roast beef eater but my wife and I always have the roast beef here. (She loves roast beef.) Everything I have ever had here has been excellent. I often comment on attention to details in my reviews and this time I will comment in the positive. One detail i noticed was my baked potato was baked through and through. Usually your restaurant baked potato is too firm, but this was nicely fluffy inside.Service is excellent.If you're headed up Hwy 28, you must stop here.

Small but dear god is the food here amazing. Check times to see when they’re open because they’re not open during certain seasons...

Great meal, more than i was expecting.

We have enjoyed Uncle George.s in the past. Tonight we were there for our anniversary. We were very disappointed. My prim rib was very poorly cooked with a lot of grisle, yorkshire cold and no gravy. My husband's sea food dish was sparse 4 shrimp ,4 scollops and small peice of picerel. The soup and salad were good. Paying tbe bill was another mistery , over charged!!!!!!!NOT THE PRICE ON THE BOARDS certainly not as good as it used to be.

When we have a special occasion or just want a wonderful meal with great service, Uncle George's is the first restaurant we think of.Lovely home cooked meals or generous proportion. There is no better value or quality that we have found

Incredible quality food, this is my official go to place for special events. They server better quality then The Keg at half the price.

Had the oddest recommendation while swimming at Quarry Bay from a local named Mike on my wife's birthday... the prime rib was excellent, the atmosphere cozy, the staff exceptionally friendly... note that summer hours are open Mondays.

My husband took me to Uncle George's for my birthday dinner on September 12th. We have had the best dinner ever. Roast Beef was the best. The service was exceptional. We have been to Uncle George's a few times, & have never disappointed. We totally recommend this restaurant. A true diamond in the ruff.
